Package Itinerary

Day1. Addis Ababa

Start the tour in Addis Ababa. Morning free. Afternoon (14:00 hrs pick up from the hotel): visit Entoto Mountains with views over the capital, the National Museum, St George church ON Panorama hotel

Day2. Addis Ababa-Nekemte

Proceed to Nekemte. Lunch on the way; dinner and ON in hotel

Day3. Nekemte-Gambela

Drive to Gambela, at the bank of Baro River, a previously famous commercial point with Sudan. Lunch on the way; dinner and ON in hotel

Day4. Gambela

Drive to the Nure and Anuak people. With scarification all over their body, they live on the bank of the Baro River and are fishermen and hunters. ON next to a village (or back to Gambela).

Day5. Gambela-Mizan Teferi

Drive south to Mizan Teferi, admiring a very big forest and nice views. Visit on the way the Dizi people. Lunch on the way; ON camp

Day6. Mizan Teferi-Surma

Drive to the unique Surma people. Here women wear circular or trapezoidal-shaped plates on their lips. Men have different scarification all over their bodies. Lunch on the way; ON camp near Tulgit.

Day7. Surma-Kibish

Drive to Kibish, admiring very nice views. Visit the Surma people around Kibish. Possibility of participating in a donga game (November to January) which is a stick fighting ritual. Lunch on the way; ON camp

Day8. Kibish

A full day for the Surma people. ON Kibish

Day9 .Kibish-Adikas

Drive to Adikas and proceed to the Omo National Park. It is the biggest and richest fauna park in Ethiopia. Late afternoon game drive. ON camping

Day10. Adikas- Nyangatom

Drive to visit the Nyangatom people and their villages, with their particular culture and way of life. ON camping

Day11. Omo River

Continue to the Omo River, and visit the Mursi people. Women put circular plates into their lips; men scarifications to indicate the number of enemies or wild animals killed. Lunch on the way; ON camping at the bank of the river.

Day12. Maji

Drive to Maji, visiting on the way different Adikas people villages. Visit also the Dizi people. Lunch on the way; dinner and ON camp at Maji

Day13. Maji-Bonga

Proceed to Bonga, via Macha Waji. Visit Bench Messenger people on the way, with also very interesting culture. Lunch on the way; ON camp

Day14. Bonga-Jimma

Drive to Jimma, with a stop at waterfalls on the way, for short walking too. Reach Jimma and visit the AbaJifar palace, the old king's house + the museum of all his artifacts, and more, in town. Lunch on the way; dinner and ON Centeral Shewa hotel

Day15. Jimma-Addis

Drive back to Addis Ababa. One in Addis, a short visit to the Mercato, the biggest open-air market in Africa. Dinner in a traditional restaurant with folkloristic dances. Transfer to the airport for departure home.
