Package Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Addis Ababa airport, welcome by our representative and transfer to a hotel.

Day 2: Addis –Bahr Dar

Pick up from the hotel and we then head north on the Gojjam road to Bahr Dar through the Blue Nile gorge. Dinner and overnight at Abay minch Lodge or similar.

Day 3: Lake Tana is strategically located. This vast expanse of water covers an area of ​​3,500 km2. Visit monasteries. Excursion to the source of the Blue Nile which joins the White Nile to form the main Nile at Khartoum, Sudan. Dinner and overnight at Abay minch Lodge or similar.

Day 4: Bahr Dar to Gondar

Our visit to Gondar would take us to the seventeenth century’s medieval history of Ethiopia. At this time a rich and distinct expression of architecture, art, music and literature flourished. The Castles are built by King Fasiledes and are the only ones of their kind on African soil. Debre Berhan Selassie Church is renowned for its ceiling of angel faces and is a reminder of Gondar’s glorious past. Dinner and overnight at Goha hotel or similar.

Day 5: Gondar –Debark

The Semien Mountains National Park has many summits above 4,000 meters. Ras Dashen is the highest point in Ethiopia and the fourth highest in Africa at 4,620 meters. It is registered as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Dinner and overnight at Semien lodge.

Day 6: Gondar- Axum

Day drive through the magnificent scenery of the Simien Mountains and Tsellemti. Descend into the valley and continue on to Tekeze Aksum.

Dinner and overnight at Yeha hotel or similar.

Day 7: Axum

Aksum was classified as World Heritage site by UNESCO. Impressive ruins, monuments and archaeological artifacts abound in and around Axum attesting to the solid, articulate, confident, literate and resourceful strength of this civilization.

City tour and discover the archaeological and historical sites.

Dinner and overnight at Yeha hotel or similar.

Day 8: Axum- Mekelle

Continue to explore the churches of Tigray. Continue to Mekelle.

Dinner and overnight at Axum hotel or similar.

Day 9: Mekelle - Lalibela

From Mekelle, we take the road to Roha, the former name of the town of Lalibela. Before arriving in Lalibela, we will visit the built-up church within a large cavern, Yemrehanna Kristos ('' God shows us the Way'').

Dinner and overnight at Lal hotel.

Day 10: Lalibela

King Lalibela, in the early 13th century, ordered the construction of eleven churches to be carved into the tuff mass. They are said to represent a reproduction of Jerusalem. Visit the churches of Lalibela, divided into two groups, where architectural elegance and overall sophisticated engineering meet in one spot.

Dinner and overnight at Lal hotel.

Day 11: Lalibela and its surroundings

Early departure for a short hike (on foot or on horseback) to visit the church of Asheten Maryam. The church is hidden under the ledge in the mountain overlooking the town of Lalibela in the east. In the afternoon, we will head to the small village of Naakuto Le’ab.

Dinner and overnight at Lal hotel.

Day 12: Lalibela - Addis (domestic flight)

Morning flight to Addis Ababa. Discover the city of Addis Ababa.

Farewell dinner with live traditional music and dances, then transfer to the airport.
