Day 01: Addis Ababa
Morning: Free time at a hotel until lunch time
The tour of Addis Ababa commences in the afternoon at 13:30 hrs from the hotel; visit Entotto Mountains to have an overview of the capital; visit the National Museum & St George Church.

Day 02: Addis - Aksum
Flight to Aksum;
Pass by the booked hotel for show up; visit the Aksum steles, the St Mary-of-Tsion Church (said to house the lost Ark of Covenant), the bath and the palace of Queen of Sheba, and different archeological sites.

Day 03: Degum Selassie, Abreha we Atsbeha and Wukro Cherkos
Visit the rock-hewn churches in Tigray such as Degum Selassie, Abreha we Atsbeha and Wikro Cherkos.
Day 04: Lalibela
Drive to Lalibela via Ambalagi, Alamata, Woldya, Dild & the Tekeze river; viewing and enjoying a very nice landscape scenery and the culture of the Tigray, Azebo/Raya, Afar (and Woldya) & Wollo people; spot also the endemic Gelada Baboons at Dild. Lunch on the way.

Day 05: The Rock-hewn Churches of Lalibela
Full day visit of the rock–hewn churches in Lalibela recognized as the 8th Wonder in the World. These are churches built in the 12th century; Lalibela is also known as the Black (African) Jerusalem;
Lunch; attend the coffee ceremony at the booked hotel in late afternoon (important as cultural event and for socialization).

Day 06: Gondar (return domestic flight)
Flight to Gondar; pass by the booked hotel to show up or to reassure transfer. Go out to visit the castle compound & King Fasiledas’s bathing pool; Debre-birhan Selassie Church (“Light of Trinity) with wonderful murals; palace of Empress Mentewab; Qusquam Monastery (and the Falasha village, if possible).

Day 07: Bahr Dar
Drive to Bahir Dar in the morning thereby enjoying the beautiful natural scenery and settlements of the local Amhara people. Show up at the booked hotel in Bahr Dar and reassure hotel transfer. Lunch break. Boat trip on Lake Tana in the afternoon and admire the beautiful monasteries over the lake’s islands, Asua Mariam and Ura Kidane Mehret Churches plus visit settlements of the local Amhara people and coffee plantations.

Day 08: At Bahr Dar Still
Go out to witness the fascinating Blue Nile falls in the morning. Back to the booked hotel in Bahir Dar for lunch break. Flight to Addis Ababa in the afternoon. If there is sufficient time, go out to visit Merkato, the biggest open air market in Africa. Have day use room available. For dinner, MPT invites you to a traditional restaurant with folkloristic dances.
