Omo Valley Tour

Day 1: ADDIS

Arrival in Addis Ababa, reception at the airport by our assistant and transfer to the hotel. Addis Ababa City Tour.

Dinner and overnight at Panorama hotel.

Day 2: ADDIS -Langano

In the morning we will drive to Langano. Lake Langano is bilharzia and crocodile free, and visitors can go for a swim, walk along the shores of the lake or go bird watching in the forests along the lake shores.

Dinner and overnight at Sabana lodge.

Day 3: Langano - Arbaminch

Drive to Arba Minch which means forty sources in Amharic. The sizable town looks out over a beautiful national park and two remarkable lakes, Abaya and Chamo, one blue and one brown. We visit the Senkele sanctuary for the endemic Swayne’s Hartebeest.

Dinner and overnight at Swaynes hotel.

Day 4: Arba Minch

In the morning we head to the surrounding mountains and ascend to the Dorze village. The Dorze are renowned for their beehive shaped huge huts & colorful cotton clothes.

Day 5: Arba Minch - Key Afer - Jinka

Drive to Jinka, visiting Bana and Ari.

Day 6: PARC MAGO

Excursion to Mursi land. Visit and drive back to the Mago National Park. Camp overnight.

O/N : Camping in Mursi village

Day 7: PARC MAGO - Dimeka - TURMI

Drive to Turmi. Spend the day visiting the Hamer.

Accommodation: camping Keske

Day 8: TURMI

The day will be devoted entirely to meeting with the Hamer people. The Hamer are known for their remarkable looks, their painted and scarified bodies, ornate hairstyles, cattle rustling and a traditional coming age ceremony. (Visit Dimeka or Turmi which are colorful market on Saturday and Mondays).

Day 9: Turmi - Konso

Continuing our journey through the valley of the Omo and Konso ethnic discovery; visit their village.

O/N –: Camping with the king

Day 10: Konso - Yabello

Near Yabello, we explore the Borana village and their semi-nomadic life style. We also visit the amazing saline Crater Lake which lies at the base of a 200 meter deep base of crater. The lake is an important regional center for salt extraction.

Night in hotel.

Day 11: Yabelo - Yergalem

From Yabelo, we head to Yirgalem in the Sidamo region. The region is known for its coffee farms and is extraordinarily lush and green.

O/N – hotel.

Day 12: Yergalem- Addis

Drive back to Addis Ababa with a stop at Lake Ziway to observe the abundance of bird species. Arrival in Addis Ababa at the end of the day.

Farewell dinner with live traditional music and dances. Transfer to the airport.
